Network Installation |
Prepare the Server: |
Create a
directory (or folder) on a shared drive,
such as "PestClick".
Remember the directory structure path as
you will need this for the workstation's
software installation.
Be sure
all workstations can share this mapped
drive |
Prepare the Workstation: |
If one does not
exist, map a drive letter that points to the above
server's shared resource, and remember the drive
letter chosen as you'll need this during
installation. For example, say Drive "F:" maps to
your company's public data storage area.
Install the Software: |
Step
1 |
Run the PestClick
installation program |
Step
2 |
Choose the
installation location (local hard drive) where the
executable files will reside. This defaults to
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\PESTCLICKUS\" |
Step
3 |
Click the "Network
Install" checkbox when it appears - this will
activate a network data path entry field, complete
the path with the browse button. |
Step
4 |
Using the above
example of "F:\" drive being mapped to your server's
shared resource - click the browse button and select
drive "F:\" from the drive selection list, then
browse to the correct directory and select it. |
Step
5 |
Using the above
examples for installing PestClick, your network data
path would be "F:\PESTCLICK\". PestClick's installer
will create a sub-folder under the F:\PESTCLICK\
directory on your shared drive called DATA which
will contain all the data files for PestClick. |
Step
6 |
If you are performing
any additional installations at other workstations,
always choose the parent of the DATA sub-directory
on the shared drive for these installs also. In this
case it would be F:/PESTCLICK for the network data
storage. |
| |
Start the Program |
| |
Step 1 |
After the software has been
installed, an icon will be visible on your
desktop. Double click on the PestClick icon. Click OK.
Note:
If
this is the first time PestClick has been installed on your
system there will be a warning that states "Unable to open UPG
File",. The install is checking to determine if this is an
upgrade install, just hit IGNORE and continue.
Step 2 |
A Security Logon screen will appear. Type in
Demo. No password is necessary at this point. |
Step 3 |
To create a secure account (that is, a User Name and Password account), see Edit Users
in Help |
